The Korean Institute of Criminology and Justice (KICJ) attended the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) conference held in Chicago, Illinois, in March 2024. This visit marked a significant opportunity to understand global trends in criminal policy and to expand networks with the international academic community and research institutions.

KICJ participated in the 61st ACJS annual meeting, which focused on the theme of "Pursuing Equitable Justice for Families, Schools, Communities, and Marginalized Populations and Individuals." During the ACJS meeting, KICJ conducted joint roundtables and sessions with globally influential research institutions to promote its research findings internationally.

Additionally, the visit to Illinois State University (ISU) strengthened academic exchange and cooperation between the two institutions. Discussions with the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), the Korean Society of Criminology in America (KOSCA), and other related institutions focused on expanding KICJ’s research competitiveness and influence through cooperative networks.

This participation in the ACJS conference and academic exchange served as a crucial step in enhancing international cooperation and research collaboration in the field of criminal justice.
